Intracardiac Micromanometer Study

چکیده
The sound-pressure correlates of the second high frequency component of a split first heart sound (S,) were investigated in 27 patients. An external phonocardiogram was recorded with high fidelity sound and pressure from the left and right atria in 21 patients, from the pulmonary artery in 14 of these, and from the central aorta in 11. In the remaining six patients, high fidelity recordings from the central aorta and right-sided chambers were obtained with an external phonocardiogram. The external component of S, that coincided with a left atrial C wave and "internal sound" was defined as M1. In those cases where the left atrial pressure was not recorded, this component could be identified by a low frequency transient in the central aortic pressure trace. The other external high frequency component of S, that was synchronous with a separate right atrial C wave and "internal sound" was defined as T,; with two exceptions, M, preceded T1. The two exceptions which caused rever-

Additional Pulmonary Valve Closure Caused by the Catheter and Demonstrated by the Intracardiac Phonocardiogram.
Simultaneous recording of intracardiac pressures and heart sounds has been made possible by the introduction of a high-frequency micromanometer developed by Soulie et al. (1954). Using this technique Soulie et al. (1961) have reported their findings in congenital and acquired heart disease. Analysing the second heart sound in recordings from the pulmonary artery and right ventricle in 11 cases ...
متن کاملAssessment of left ventricular pressure-volume relations using gated radionuclide angiography, echocardiography, and micromanometer pressure recordings. A new method for serial measurements of systolic and diastolic function in man.
This study was designed to validate the use of combined invasive and noninvasive methods in assessing serial pressure-volume relations in man. Ten patients undergoing cardiac catheterization were studied with simultaneous intracardiac micromanometer pressure recordings, gated radionuclide angiography and echocardiography. Systolic and diastolic function were measured at rest, during right atria...
متن کاملResynchronization therapy optimization by intracardiac impedance.
AIMS For successful cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT), an optimization of left ventricular (LV) lead position and stimulation timing is required. The feasibility of optimizing LV lead position, atrioventricular delay (AVd), and interventricular delay (VVd) in CRT using intracardiac impedance measurement was evaluated. METHODS AND RESULTS Heart failure patients (n = 14, NYHA 13×III, 1×II...
متن کاملIntracardiac Infection at the Tip of Hemodialysis Catheter: Life threatening Morbidity
Endocarditis and intracardiac infection have been increased recently especially in dialysis dependent renal failure patients. This is usually intractable infection to broad spectrum Antibiotic therapy and in most cases surgical intervention was necessary. We have presented 45 years old man with intracardiac infection at the tip of dialysis catheter that after catheter removal intracardiac infec...
متن کاملTransseptal pressure gradient and diastolic ventricular septal motion in patients with mitral stenosis.
Previous studies from our laboratory have shown that the position of the ventricular septum relative to the two ventricles at end-diastole is determined by the instantaneous transseptal pressure gradient (TSG) defined as left ventricular minus simultaneous right ventricular pressure. Since patients with mitral stenosis often have exaggerated leftward (paradoxic) motion of the ventricular septum...
